Ambulatory Surgery is the official clinical journal for the International Association for Ambulatory Surgery. It is published quarterly on this website and is a free access journal.
Ambulatory Surgery provides a multidisciplinary international forum for all health care professionals involved in day care surgery. The editors welcome reviews, original articles, case reports, short communications and letters relating to the practice and management of ambulatory surgery.
Topics covered include basic and clinical research, surgery, anaesthesia, nursing; administrative issues, facility development, management, policy issues, reimbursement; perioperative care, patient and procedure selection, discharge criteria, home care. The journal also publishes book reviews and a calendar of forthcoming events.

Meet the Editors
The Chair of the Editorial Board is Dr Mark Skues. He is joined by Professor Douglas McWhinnie and Professor Beverly Philip. Mark and Beverly are Anaesthetists and Douglas is a Surgeon – each has led the development of day surgery on the national and international stage. The editors have extensive experience and will try to help authors if contacted.
